Ethos

wetakeanywaste.com takes its' environmental responsibilities very seriously, therefore we pledge to:

  • Re-use and recycle materials wherever possible.
  • Not to send rubbish removed to landfill if other less eco-friendly harmful methods of disposal are possible at equal or lower cost.
  • To minimise our vehicle emissions.
  • To consider the environmental impact of our purchases.
  • To ensure we are at the forefront of best practice as a rubbish carrier.
  • To encourage our staff to reuse or recycle waste collected rather than dispose to landfill.
  • To aim to recycle and re-use a minimum of 75% of the waste we are collect.
  • Where possible to replace our equipment from removals.
  • To be up to date with environmental regulations.

We aim to achieve these goals by separating all the waste we collect by material as it is loaded. This means that we can avoid having to dump it as mixed waste and sending it to landfill. Below are examples of how some of the waste we collect it used after we have taken it.

Building waste is recycled and used as foundations in building projects.

Paper and cardboard is recycled at merchants.

Metals are taken to merchants and exported.

Clothing and other textiles is taken to merchants and exported or given to charities.

Good quality furniture is taken to charities. Furniture that is poorer quality is separated. So an old sofa that has no fire sticker and is in non-saleable condition would be stripped into 3 materials. Textile, wood and metal. Each material is then recycled or re-used accordingly.

Soil and garden waste is composted.

Wood waste is either chipped or recycled.

Computers and electrical devices like televisions are stripped down to their components and re-sold in bits.
