Recycling Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford and Wakefield areaswetakeanywaste.com recycles 75% on average of every collection. We achieve this by separating the waste as we load it. We separate the waste by material so for example any wood on a collection would be loaded into the same place in our truck, similarly if any textile was collected this would be loaded separately too. When the items are brought back to our depot they are separated out again. They are then bundled by material and taken to the necessary recycling centre. For example building materials like bricks and concrete are usually taken to quarries to be used to make foundation. For further information on what happens to your waste after it is collected see our ethos page. Certain types of waste are broken down at our depot. Furniture that is no longer in usable condition is broken into 3 waste streams; textile, wood and metals. The textile, the part that is visible to the user, is sent to textile merchants. The wood is chipped and re-used as chip-board, in many cases. The springs are made of metal and taken to scrap merchants. In certain cases we can even directly re-use your waste and in such cases give it to charity or use it ourselves! Recycling is important to us. wetakeanywaste.com trade as an eco-friendly skip alternative and look to recycle your waste wherever it is commercially viable for us to do so. We are also financially incentivised too as it is far more expensive for us to send waste to lanfill than to look to recycle or re-use it. If you have any tips on how we can be more eco-friendly or questions about recycling in Leeds, recycling in Bradford or recycling in Sheffield please call our friendly team free on 0800 22 481 46. |
